Administrative Block

This impressive state-of-the-art Administrative Block , the Pride of the institution , greets as one enters the portals of KMV. Artistically designed and meticulously planned , this block adds to the aesthetic appeal of the campus. The double-storeyed building houses the Principal’s Office, Administrative Office , Visitors’ Room , Visitors’ Lounge and Reception Counter at the ground floor. The first floor has Bursar’s Office , Accounts. Office , Record Room etc. The fully air- conditioned block is well-equipped with all the infrastructural facilities along with Internet Connectivity and Automation to ensure hassle-free and qualitative administration on the campus.

Arts Block

Bathed in the purity of white colour, the building of Arts Block is the heart of the Vidyalaya. The block houses several departments of the Faculty of Humanities like PG Dept. of English, PG Dept. of Music & Dance, History, Punjabi, Political Science & Public Administration, Philosophy, Sociology, Fine Arts, Home Science, Physical Education. The block also comprises Hall of Fame-the pride of the institution, Student Development Centre, Gandhian Studies Centre, Women Studies Centre, Virasat Ghar, various offices like IQAC, NCC, NSS, School of Communications, Dept. of Student Welfare, Grievance Redressal Cell, ECA and Lajjawati Hall, Devraj Hall, Common Room etc to facilitate holistic growth of young minds.

Commerce Block

In the present Hi-Tech and computer savy scenario, Post Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration is making ceaseless efforts to keep pace with the changing trends. To impart holistic and quality education to the students, the department is equipped with Smart Class Room, OHPs and multimedia projectors. Besides class room teaching, the students are provided additional notes through e-content programmes. To keep the students abreast of latest developments in the field of commerce and industry, there is a reading room in the department with various journals and newspapers like Business World, Competition Success Review, Economic Times, Employment News, Dalal Street, Journal of Finance and Capital Market etc. Students can have ready access to internet and SPSS in the computer lab. There is a provision for issuing books to financially weak and meritorious students in the departmental library which has a stock of more than 250 books.

Day Care Centre

The establishment of Day Care Centre in the college campus is a new addition to the campus profile. The main objective of the day care centre is to promote the overall development of the child. It also aims at the physical, cognitive and socio-emotional development of the children before they enter primary school. Activities planned and organised in such a way that contribute to holistic child development outcomes that set the foundation for lifelong learning and help in the monitoring of health and nutrition status during this critical period of development.

Dev Raj Sabhagaar

Hi-tech, centrally air-conditioned, acoustically treated and fitted with the latest audio-visual facilities, the college auditorium has a capacity to accommodate 2000 students. Apart from being a hub of all creativity that generates thoughts and channelizes talent, the auditorium is also a monumental spectator to intellectual pursuits and quests, ceremonious celebrations, spectacular shows and mega events that go down in the annals of time.

Gymnasium

The gymnasium in the college is another facility provided to the students who can train themselves in various games and exercise to remain mentally and physically fit. It is built according to the standard dimensions (120 ft X 100 ft; 37 ft high). The gallery can accommodate 300 spectators. Provisions have been made for a variety of games like Table Tennis, Badminton, Volley Ball, Hand Ball, Wrestling, Judo and Weight Lifting etc.

Health Club

The state-of-the-art health club caters free-of-cost to the physical fitness of the students and the teaching faculty alike. Students and teachers can avail themselves of various devices like jogger, twister, treadmill, cycle, vibrator, massager etc.

Additions to this impressive list like top-of-the-line multi-gym, magnetic bike and motorised treadmill invite fitness freaks for their favorite work-outs.

Hostel

Founded in 1886, KMV boarding house, ‘Kanya Ashram’, as it was popularly called, is situated within the precincts of the college. The hostel building consists of four hostel wings- Savitri Bhawan, Rai Bahadur Badri Das Hostel, Saraswati Bhawan and New Hostel. Located in lush green and eco-friendly surroundings, the hostel has a provision of accommodation for about 800 girl students. Aiming at all-round personality development, our mission is to develop right skills, positive attitude, leadership qualities along with a sense of discipline, dedication to duty and commitment in every student. In pursuit of excellence in all spheres of human activity, hostel life provides the boarders umpteen opportunities to enjoy not only a sense of togetherness but to become awakened and empowered individuals so that they may actively respond to the momentous issues of society and socio- political environment of the world. Life in KMV hostel invites the boarders to enjoy their sojourn in a home away from home in the most fruitful and truly memorable way.

Hall of Fame

The Pride of the Institution “Hall of Fame” is enshrined in the oldest building named Krishna Hall founded in 1933 by Lala Dev Raj Ji. Rooted in the inspirational soil of “Haldi Ghati”, this august hall was built with a mission to inculcate a sense of profound patriotism among the then girl students. The saga of supreme sacrifices made by the students of the Vidyalaya during the turbulent times of India‘s struggle for freedom finds a matchless depiction in the photo gallery. The ambience and decor rich with the reminiscences of historic visits of five Presidents and five Prime Ministers of India bear a testimony to the unparalleled glory and grandeur of the Vidyalaya’s rich legacy. Indelible imprints left behind by these great personages are the much-cherished souvenirs that transform this structure into a place where ‘the head is held high.’

Information Technology Block

Information Technology Block is dedicated to the memory of the former President of Vidyalaya Managing Committee and Patron Sh. Virendra Ji, a true patriot and freedom fighter, a noted journalist and a committed Arya Samajist. The Block with its avant-garde infrastructure aims at inculcating a constructive aptitude and innovative spirit in the students.

Prayaas

Science Block

All the departments are provided with modern labs fitted with the latest equipment and well-furnished lecture theatres. The Department of Physics and Electronics can boast of seven, FIST sponsored, ultra-modern labs of postgraduate level, a nuclear lab, two research labs fitted with Photoluminiscent Spectrophotometer and a hi-tech dark room. The Botanical Garden with rare and ancient plants, a green house and a pond with hydrophytes is a unique feature of the Botany Department. Special attraction of the Zoology Department is its museum with ancient evolutionary species. Department of Biotechnology and Bio- informatics possess state-of-the-art Recombinant DNA, Plant Tissue Culture, Animal Tissue Culture labs fitted with hi-tech Computer providing latest software and Internet facilities to the students. Audio-visual methods and computer are used for teaching Science subjects.

Springs Student Centre

Keeping in mind “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”, KMV provides its students ample opportunities not only for labour but pleasure as well. In the spacious and well laid-out ‘Springs: Student Centre” located just behind the administrative block, students, in their free periods, can relax and chatter and engage in any creative activities after their hearts’ choice, while gulping down the mouth-watering delicacies being cooked in the adjacent canteen.

Vocational Studies Block

Vocational Studies block is a new addition on the campus to keep P.G department of Fashion Designing in step with the latest demands of the booming fashion scene. It has a fashion workshop equipped with huge cutting tables, latest automatic sewing machines, embroidery machines and try room .The draping lab is stocked with dress-forms and master cutting tables. The CAD lab has the latest computers loaded with the most advanced and sophisticated Design softwares which are in sync with the needs of the textile industry. The textile workshop is equipped with a textile testing lab , dark room and printing unit .It also has a handloom weaving unit and a knitting machine. The pattern development lab has suitable state-of-the-art infrastructure .The stitching and garment construction lab for beginners is equipped with hand machines. This vibrant block has an impressive display room , the Sukriti Creative Outlet, which gives an apt platform for selling and exhibiting the creative expressions of the budding designers. Besides this the department boasts of a resource room , faculty room and a boutique to cater to the needs of its fashion clientele . The department has a well-stocked departmental library and e-content base. Last but not the least the displays of the fashion street of this magnificent department add a touch of colour and magic to the campus life.

Virasat Ghar

Keen to preserve the pristine glory of rich cultural heritage of Punjab, the college has taken an innovative initiative. ‘Virasat Ghar’ is the creation of a collaborative venture of both the teachers as well as the students of the Department of Punjabi who make regular contributions to enrich the priceless possessions and articles typical of Punjabi folk culture and art. Traditional Phulkaris, jewellery, utensils, charkhas (spinning wheels), traditional dresses and various household items are all cherished with an objective to inspire love in the young minds for our timeless culture that defines our identity. In the single-minded pursuit of this cause, the college makes consistent efforts to display this unique treasure in the form of exhibition from time to time.
